Past Events Ferret Racing May 2019

Beaford Village Halls first Ferret racing evening was a great success, especially as we were competing with the Torrington May fair. It was great to see so many people and even better to see some new faces and the kids enjoying themselves so much.
There was the chance to watch some serious ferret racing, have a drink and a bite to eat and maybe even a little ‘flutter’.

Before the big day ‘Magic’ Mike Maynard had created the race cards and managed to get sponsorship from Local business.

So a big thank you to the race sponsors:

Race 1: Richard’s ‘Heards Beaford Cup’
Race 2: Moorparks Cottages, ‘alpaca my winnings’
Race 3: ‘Globe Grand National’
Race 4: ‘Beehive Beauty Gold Cup’
Race 5: Michale Hurley ‘Hurley’s Battlezone
Race 6: Parsley Electrical ‘Dash to A&E’
Race 7: Players Crafts ‘Sheila’s Crafty Derby’
Race 8: Chris Rogers ‘The Grade Finale

On top of the race sponsors we wanted the ferrets to have a sense of belonging and so we thought they should all be given names
– that’s 48 names that villigers got a chance to name, with a prize going to the best named ferret
We had burgers and hot dogs available (vegetarian options too) and the bar was fully stocked.

A great evening was had by all and the village hall committee would like to thank everyone who turned up to support us and the village hall.
The was the first Beaford Village hall ferret race, but it wont be the last!
